Biography
Patti is a mother of four children, ages 18 through 26. She believes that children are Divine teachers and that truth can be seen through the eyes of children. Patti has created and implemented parent education and support groups in Pediatric Practices and Women’s Centers, and has taught courses in Early Childhood Development at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and Naropa University in Boulder, CO.
Patti has published parenting articles in The Hampton Roads Shopper, and Kids Pages, and other local publications in Virginia and Colorado. She is frequently called upon to address community organizations such as PTA’s and other early childhood agencies. She is on the board of directors for Kids Pages Cares, a non-profit organization in the Denver-metro area.
Patti has more than 25 years of experience working as a special education teacher and a child and family therapist. She also has worked as a liaison between schools and other professionals and has provided therapeutic interventions for children and families in both school and clinical settings.
Patti completed a doctoral degree in psychology from the Union Institute and University in 2002. She also holds a master of science degree in education from Old Dominion University and a bachelor of science degree in special education from James Madison University. Her biggest teacher however, has been her own life experiences.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado, and she is creating a Mentoring Program as part of her expanding practice development.
